[This blog post thread, appearing daily, will server as my journal for noting down my progress on learning Glorious Quran.]

Learning Quran! though I have been thinking about since ages but not any more! no more procrastination. I want to do it and I will start today inshaAllah ul Aziz. I want to learn it so that I can recite Quran in salat while standing in front of my beloved Lord, I want to learn it so that I may be more close to Glorious Quran; reciting it affectionately days and nights, I want to learn it so that Quran remain in my mind at all times and whenever I am going to embark on anything, some glorious ayah flash in my mind to guide me, and if I intend to do something wrong, another glorious ayah forbid me to do so.

I am starting with Part 26, first Surah is Surah Al-Ahqaf.

Today’s progress: First 10 ayahs

Something that touched my heart and made my mind just absolutely agree with, while reading this morning Syed Qutb’s (may Allah SWT grant him mercy) splendid commentary of Quran, ‘Fi-Zilal-il-Quran‘ (in the shade of Quran) he said,

Quran is NOT (only) sent for hearing it in beautiful voices (qirat) and admiring its language, rhythm, grammar and beauty. Rather it is sent as a manual for life; as a constitution for country, as a law for courts, as syllabus for students, as a document to be followed in finance and trade sectors, as a tool for carving out state’s interior and foreign policies, as a guideline principles for military and wars, and in short as a Imam (leader) in all avenues of life. We must understand this true reason of Almighty Allah’s sending His beautiful word to His favourite and greatest human being (may peace and blessings of Allah SWT may shower on him), and therefore we must try with all our energies and capital to have this Quran implemented in all avenues (government and domestic) of life.

Assalam Alaikum!

Quran - Word of Almighty Allah — is the last book sent by Him for humans, and I absolutely love it. This is best book I ever read, Quran is greatest mercy of Allah Almighty, it is my leader (Imam), it gives me enlightenment (Nu’r) and guidance (Hidayah), it is cure (Shifa) and provides ‘right’ criterion (Furqan) for judgment/analysis in life. If I were ask one wish to be fulfilled in my life, I would ask for ‘living Quran’, i.e. to lead Quran in my life as did the last messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah may shower on him). May Almighty Allah help me in achieving this aim. This place will be my journal where I will post about my journey towards understanding and ‘living’ Quran.
